| Business Description |
 |
I am an independent therapist working with a model of counseling called Narrative Therapy. People consult with me on a broad range of problems that have an unwanted influence on their lives. Some issues on which I have collaborated with others include depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, personal growth, work/career issues, anger.
I believe that every person experiences challenges that come into their lives and that they have the ability to find how to live in preferred ways with those challenges. Perhaps the best statement that reflects my philosophy of practice is from Michael White: "The problem is the problem; you are not the problem."
Sometimes life's challenges become overwhelming and you may find it difficult to cope or to move forward. When this happens, these challenges/problems may dominate your life. Often social and family pressures help to keep the problem in control, too. It is my job as a therapist to work in partnership with you to identify ways these problems have affected your life--and strategize ways to help you regain control over your life. I will work collaboratively with you to examine these challenges/problems. We will look to uncover your life experiences that contradict these problems and may provide ways for you to take back control of your life.
